Student placements

Live projects,
real work

Our placements come straight off the projects we are running. You work on site with our team, on something that ships. Thirteen projects are running now.

This is a paid learning programme, not a job. The student pays NatureScan a monthly fee for the placement; we do not pay a stipend. The fee covers your supervision, your project costs, workspace and the certificate at the end.

Every placement is on site — either at our Bengaluru office or on our field sites in Uttara Kannada. There are no remote placements. For field projects, travel and accommodation are extra and arranged by you, though we will help you find somewhere.

Two placements — MCA account associate and GST filing associate — carry no fee at all. Fees are payable only after you are selected and have accepted a place.

What you get

A named supervisor, a defined project with a deliverable, and a completion certificate that describes what you actually did rather than that you attended. Where the work is publishable, you are credited.

Field placements mean early mornings, leeches in the monsoon and long walks. Office placements mean deadlines and a shared desk in Nagarbhavi. Both are real work with real consequences, which is the point.

Who we take

Undergraduates, postgraduates and recent graduates. Some projects want a specific discipline — forestry for the swamp research, commerce for the GST desk — and some want anyone who can write clearly and turn up.

If you cannot afford the fee, say so in your application. We hold a small number of waivers each intake and would rather know at the start than lose someone good.
